Markelle Palombo's Extraordinary Decisions brings dynamic landscapes and self portraiture into a single photographic frame. With her focus on the outdoors and ambient light, she is drawn to the Sierra Nevada where most of her project is captured. With a formal gown and tripod, Palombo constructs images using a wide lense and brings the viewer on a cinematic and opportunistic journey. The use of scale, careful placement of the subject and balance within her frame conveys a strong sense of internal independence and a natural progression regardless of the surroundings or what is ahead.
Markelle Palombo received her Masters in Fine Art from the Academy of Art University and currently resides in San Francisco.
With the project gaining momentum, her work has been featured in PDN Magazine’s The Curator and received Best in Show by Fusion Art in 2016. Palombo has participated in group exhibitions with Gallery 1317 - “Featured Artist of San Francisco” “SF Scenes” and the North Beach Festival. Her artwork has been displayed at The Pacific Art League in Palo Alto, Fusion Art in Palm Springs and the Cannery Galleries in San Francisco. She is represented online by Saatchi Art, and a member of APA - American Photographic Artists, and the SPE - Society for Photographic Education.
